Description:
1968 Ford Mustang GT 428CJ R code Eleanor
Quite possibly, the only "R" code Eleanor ever built !!!
This car is an original 68 1/2 R code GT as verified by a
Marti report. We are not sure of any pertinent race history
but this car was a drag car when the current owner purchased
it 3 years ago. It has undergone a complete restoration over
the last 3 years.
The 428CJ motor and 4 spd. tranny have both been
professionally rebuilt. This car was not rusty but both
quarter and wheel houses had to be replaced do to racing
modifications. The fenders and doors were not rusty. The
floors and frame were not rusty but the floors were replaced
because of drag racing modifications. All the typical
restoration type of work was done including ,but not limited
to brakes, fuel and brake lines, complete interior,
headliner, gas tank, and windshield. As i'm sure you
realize, it's hard to list everything. The paint is the
Beautiful "Pepper Gray" with Black metallic stripes . It
also has the 9" rear end with 3.50 traction loc and 31
spline axles with staggered shocks.
